Goodie Whemper's Definitive Guide To Writing New Tricks

Thee End (of thee Trick)

Finally, thee witch must tell her Trick wot to say to people and wot to tell her when it is finished. Thee Grand Final, so to speak. This is thee bit where Tricks at thee Trials are most impressive because, if thee Trick will be cast on Charlie, thee Trick may make Charlie do things himself. That Is: she may use verbs for Charlie in thee final bits (but notte in thee stages, remember!) and they will make Sense. There is a trick (ha ha!) to writing this part, however. She must do so in a Very Particular (read: very odd, but thee Tricks like it) way: by putting a $ in them in funny Spots.

For example, Black Aliss once wrote a Trick with "Charlie watch$es in fear as his skin turns black and begins to slough off, then scream$s and try$s to run away." in. When she cast it on poor Philton Dwee from out Pekan Ford way, it looked to me like "Philton Dwee watches in fear as his skin turns black and begins to slough off, then screams and tries to run away." I asked Philton's ghost notte long after wot he had seen, and he said it had looked like "You watch in fear as your skin turns black and begins to slough off, then scream and try to run away." to him.
