Description
There are four groups of hired killers on Discworld: the Ankh-Morpork Guild of Assassins, the Agatean Ninja, the Hashishim of Klatch and the Genuan Mano Rossa.
Each organisation's members will automatically become player killers (see "help playerkilling") when gaining full member status, usually by passing some form of test.
The Guild of Assassins
The Guild of Assassins' offers one of the best educations in the world. Graduates should be at home in any company and be able to play at least one one musical instrument (poisoned darts fit into wind instruments surprisingly well). The Assassins' Guild kills for one reason, and one reason only — money. Hence their motto: NIL MORTIFI SINE LUCRE ("No death without payment").
Their headquarters are located on Filigree Street, Ankh-Morpork.
The Mistress of the Assassins' Guild is Llylia.
The Master of Cobra House is Zelos.
The Master of Black Widow House is Bernard.
The Mistress of Raven House is Aell.
The Master of Scorpion House is Donster.
The Master of Tree Frog House is Calinii.
The Master of Viper House is Martinez.
The Hashishim
The Hashishim, based in Klatch, are the first known group to practise assassination as a profession. They derive their name from the vast quantities of hasheesh they consume and are unique among vicious killers in being both deadly and at the same time, inclined to giggle, groove to interesting patterns of light and shade on their terrible knife blades and, in extreme cases, fall over.
Their headquarters are found in the cliffs west of Djelibeybi.
The Lord of the Mountain is Leyan.
The Malik Iman is Haassasin.
The Mano Rossa
Once a part of the Coffee Nostra, the Mano Rossa, or Red Hands of Genua, broke away from the other families to specialise in the art of assassination. They value loyalty and expect members to take an Oath before being allowed to attempt hits.
Their headquarters are located in a mansion on Dauphin Road, Genua.
The Don of the Mano Rossa is Zane.
The Tenente of the Mano Rossa is Hassan.
The position of Tenente of the Mano Rossa is currently vacant.
The Ninja
The Ninja of the Agatean Empire value honour (amongst themselves) and would rather die than live without it. They are knowledgeable of Agatean culture and are taught how to perform important cultural rituals such as the tea ceremony and learn, incidentally, how to kill during them.
Their headquarters are found on Silk Lane in Bes Pelargic.
The Sensei of the Ninja is Kawakisan.
The Mentor of the Ninja is Iota.
The position of Mentor of the Ninja is currently vacant.
