History of Discworld MUD
— the mud that launched a thousand telnets
Discworld MUD was founded in 1991 by David Bennett (Pinkfish) and was first opened to players in 1992. Discworld uses its own custom Mudlib which was released in 1993.
During its long history Discworld has been hosted on three different continents and on more machines than we can remember. This has led to a very international feel to the mud with players, creators and administrators from all over the world — depending on when you login you're likely to find a preponderance of Europeans, Americans or Australians.
