Mr Logger
Mr Logger is a trivia bot that runs three different games for your amusement: Mr Quiz, Mr Countdown and Ms Maths.
You play through the talker (the chat interface). Commands that control a game begin with an exclamation mark (!), such as the command to start a game.
Once a game is running you do not need any special command to answer: simply say your answer in the channel as normal, and the bot treats whatever you say as your answer to the current question. The bot works out who you are automatically.
Mr Quiz
Mr Quiz asks a series of general-knowledge questions across a range of categories. The first player to give the correct answer scores a point.
The main commands are:
!start [<category>] - Start a new quiz. You may optionally name one or more comma-separated categories to play; otherwise questions are drawn from everything.
!categories - List the categories that are available to play.
!hint - Reveal a hint for the current question.
!repeat - Repeat the current question.
!scores - Show the scores for the game in progress.
!highscores - Show the all-time high-score table.
!help - Display the list of commands.
To answer a question, just say the answer in the channel.
Mr Countdown
Mr Countdown is the letters game. Each round the bot gives you a string of nine letters, and you must make the longest valid word you can from them. Longer words score more points.
The main command is:
!countdown - Start a new game of Countdown.
To play, just say a word built from the round's letters. You may say as many words as you like before time runs out; only your best scoring word counts.
Ms Maths
Ms Maths is the numbers game. Each round the bot gives you six numbers and a target total. You must write an equation, using those numbers, that comes as close as possible to the target.
The rules are simple:
You may use each given number at most once.
You may use addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and parentheses.
The closer your total is to the target, the more points you score, so an exact answer is best.
The main command is:
!maths - Start a new game of numbers.
To play, just say your equation in the channel, for example ( 8 + 4 ) * 50. You may say several attempts in a round; your best one counts.
