Discworld Player help

death

Two things in life are certain. One is taxes and the other TALKS LIKE THIS.

While playing on Discworld, you will undoubtedly receive many a visit from this fine fellow, and while dying is inconvenient and to be avoided, you don't lose very much in doing so. The main thing you lose is a life, which you will have to buy/obtain more of in order to make sure you don't die your final death. The most popular means of obtaining additional lives is by visiting Pishe's gardens in Ankh-Morpork - although there are other ways of doing so.

If you die your final death, it is possible to return using the Rite of AshkEnte - but the best thing to do is to make sure that you always have a spare life. Typing "score" will give you a nice overview of how many times you've died, and how many spare lives you have remaining. When you start to run low on lives, you would be well-advised to obtain some more!

Once you reach the afterlife, Death will be there to welcome you. He is a busy person and can only be in one place at a time, so if things are busy, you may have to wait a few minutes. Once Death has said his bit you are free to have yourself raised from the dead. While dead, there are a number of things that you cannot do. These, sadly, include casting spells and performing rituals, so you will not be able to raise yourself from the dead. To be raised, you will have to find yourself an NPC or player who can restore you to your former self.

Be prepared to pay for resurrection. Some chappies may be nice, but others may demand favours or monetary reward for their services.

PS. Death is NOT the same as "net dead", this is just where the player has lost his/her connection to the game.
