Description
There are currently several members of the Discworld pantheon that a player can worship. As far as becoming a priest or a worshipper of one of these gods is concerned, the starting point is going to the high altar in the relevant temple and praying to the god. If you have the correct alignment, you'll be accepted as a worshipper (obviously you mustn't be currently worshipping any other god). Wizards and witches already know that Gods exist, but have no truck with worshipping them. Witches and wizards then may not adopt a deity.
If you then wish to become a priest (given that you are not a member of any guild already), you should make your way to the guild room in the temple, through the door which won't let those who either don't worship the god or who have the wrong alignment pass, and join as normal. Priests are taught rituals and commands by the instructor as appropriate to their skills, similarly some deities will grant limited rituals and commands to their worshippers.
Currently, the worshippable gods are, in no particular order:
God | Worshipper rituals | |
--- | ------------------ | |
Fish, God of Sea Creatures | Breathe Underwater, Splash | |
Gapp, God of Fine Clothing | Cool, Mend | |
Gufnork, God of Fluff | Cure Light Wounds, Summon Fluff | |
Hat, Vulture-Headed God of Unexpected Guests | Dark Sight, Warm | |
Pishe, Goddess of Slight Showers | Pishe does not accept non-priest followers. | |
Sandelfon, God of Corridors | Calm, Detect Alignment | |
Seven-Handed Sek | Light, Parch |
It is possible (albeit difficult and time-consuming) to renounce your faith. For more information check 'help supplication'.
