pyroscipate

Discworld command help

shroud

Name

pyroscipate - Bury a corpse to the greater good of your rather nautical god.

Syntax

pyroscipate <corpses>

Description

Using this command, you can perform a ritual to hold a funeral for the fallen, sending their spirits to rest with your god's blessing.

Please note that all items in the corpse will be taken with the corpse. The process will contribute to the glory of your deity and, if you are out of alignment, move you a little closer towards being in favour.

Note

Because of the pelagic nature of Fish, God of Sea Creatures, the ritual burial granted to His followers may be performed while swimming in the open water, with no land in sight, as well as on solid ground.

Examples

> pyroscipate corpse
You sing a funeral dirge praising Fish over the corpse of a grizzled sea captain.

You call on Fish, God of Fishermen, and suddenly great timbers arise out of the ground. The timbers curve and shape themselves into a small longship about the corpse of a grizzled sea captain. A small mast sprouts up, rising rapidly to full height, growing two branches which turn into a yard. A large, orange-and-white vertically striped sail unfurls as the ship catches on fire, solemnly burning until only the ash remains to scatter on the wind.

> pyroscipate corpse
You gesture over the corpse of a killer whale while uttering a prayer under your breath.

You gesture over the corpse of a killer whale while uttering a prayer under your breath. You whisper a prayer to Fish, God of Sea Creatures, blowing bubbles through the water. Suddenly, a glowing blue school of tuna swim in, shredding the corpse of a killer whale, and then swim away as fast as they appeared.
