I have taken the wizard spell Patient Taming of the Quantum Weather Butterfly firmly by the metaphorical scalp and shaken it up and down a bit.
You will notice that there is now a physical weather lotus in the room when you cast the spell, as well as the fact that the temperature command will report how much the weather orb is affecting you.
The most important functional (rather than cosmetic) change is that the temperature change effected by a weather orb will only be able to affect others if it wouldn't cause them to become too hot or cold - unless they and the caster pass a PK check.
The exception to this is the caster themselves as well as their groupmates, with the use case in mind that you might want to make yourself and your groupmates hotter than comfortable before going to the hub, or colder than comfortable before going to the rainforest or jungle.
Other functional changes include the ability to smash a weather orb (subject to a PK check as long as the caster is online), an infinite XP lever that you have to search for in a room with a weather orb, and the fact that it now gives off light.[1]
[1] At least two of these are true.
