What's What!

Welcome to What's What! A web-based recognition programme for the hard work your creators put into this MUD each and every day! In here, you can find a list of your favourite (and not so favourite) creators, and a list of the projects they have been involved with that are either in playtesting (thus, all but completed), limbo (completed but not in the game for whatever reason), or in play (you've been there, done that).

The creators and projects on this page should not be considered exhaustive... this is still a work in progress. If there is a creator you'd like to know more about missing, then ask them... remember, however, that the What's What is a voluntary endeavour. Don't feel offended if they wish to bow out of it.

Have fnu!

Pit is primarily a liaison, but regularly branches out to coding projects. His hobbies include bugfixing and terrifying helping players.

Description of the Removing Focus project

Make it unfeasible to systematically focus on specific zones in combat. This consists of three phases:

[X] make it possible to deliberately specific target zones using specials

[/] change CCC, so as not to be weak solely in the neck anymore (as then this change would overpower it)

[ ] allow focus on upper body or lower body, but penalise other focuses (for instance using a GP drain)

The idea of the first part of the project [now in game] is that rather than focusing base attacks on a specific zone, you pick specific zones to special. Some attacks work better for some specials; for example, stabbing someone through the heart makes more sense than attempting to crush their ribcage, and similarly, crushing someone's knees makes more sense than stabbing them.

The idea of the second part of the project is for CCC to not be a better defense against certain weapon types than against others. Thus, strengths and weaknesses versus pierce and blunt are removed, and the neck is no longer the weak point. Instead, the weak point is determined randomly, and changes every few hits.

The Removing Focus project is currently in play.
