vine ring - a ring that can remember and recall keys
Syntax
teach <ring> to mimic <key>
persuade <ring> to forget <key>
Description
Vine rings are created with the witch spell Gammer Shorga's Clever Creeper. They can be taught to mimic keys (this destroys the original key) and they will automatically create the key when the owner locks or unlocks a lock. Teaching a ring to mimic a key takes some skill in magic.items.worn.ring, and using the ring to lock or unlock takes some magic GP. The ring must be bonded to the wearer to work. The person to whom the ring is bonded can see what keys it is remembering by looking at it, and the ring can be persuaded to forget a key, but the exact name of the key must be used and it will forget the first matching key.
