missing item receipt

Name

missing item receipt

Syntax

kiss <receipt>
kiss receipt in <vessel>

Description

A missing item receipt is generated by the code when there is a problem loading an object. The problem may be that the environment of the object has changed and is no longer able to accomodate it, the data for the object is no longer valid, or the object has changed in some way that means it is no longer compatible with the saved data.

Normally kissing the receipt should create a replacement object with the appropriate properties and features of the broken object, such as enchantment, talkerisation, delusion and any other effects. There are however occasions that this does not, and both receipts for liquids and those in vessels have some specific conditions.

If your receipt fails to turn into your missing item when kissed, and you are unable to resolve the issue by addressing any concerns identified in the messages you receive when attempting to kiss it, please ask a liaison for assistance.

Receipts for Liquids

Receipts for liquids will only work if they are placed in a vessel of sufficient capacity to hold the amount of liquid which will be generated, and are the only item in that vessel.

Receipts in Vessels

Receipts in vessels are somewhat fussy as to when they will convert back into the missing item, particularly if they are for a liquid. Please pay attention to any messages you receive when attempting to kiss such a receipt.

After putting a receipt in a vessel, you may need to drop and pick up the vessel, or leave and re-enter the room containing the vessel before you are able to to kiss the receipt in the vessel.

A receipt in a vessel can not be kissed unless it is the only item in that vessel.
