identify

Name

identify - Add a multi-purpose indicator to an object.

Syntax

identify <object> as <some new name>
identify remove [from] <object(s)>
identify claim <object(s)> [as my own]
identify <object(s)>

Description

This command can be used to describe an object in your inventory with a word/words you choose yourself. Items that have had an indicator specified by you are shown as such by "locate". An item's identifier is preserved over logins; it will only be removed or changed through the use of the identify or unindentify commands.

Note: Leaving your inventory does not affect the identifier.

The 'identify <object>' syntax will show the current identifier (if any) for the object.

The 'identify claim <object>' syntax will transfer an identifier someone else set to you.

Special identifiers

"component pouch" is checked for components needed for casting spells and performing rituals. "medicine bag" is checked for bandages for the bandage command.

Objects you have identified have the "identified" adjective and objects you have not identified have the "unidentified" adjective.
