The Viras family was founded by Jerec in Ankh-Morpork
The Viras clan sprouted like a weed between the cobblestones of the twisted lanes of Ankh-Morpork. Raised on broken promises and tossed aside, the orphans of Viras were born out of the failures of the city's guilds. They survived in the shadows by pilfering purses, fistfighting fools, selling secrets, and occasionally pinching sausages from Dibbler's cart. But a hunger for belonging and a desire to grow stronger bound the orphans together with something deeper.
The Viras clan grew and evolved as they gained respect and legitimacy within the city of Ankh-Morpork and beyond. Champions span the ranks of the Viras - pickpockets, brawlers, killers, clerics, conjurers - all eager to prove their mettle across the Disc. Their quest for strength and fellowship is reflected in the Viras clan motto: "Familia eligitur" - a family is chosen.
