Discworld command help

fence

Name

fence - fence items to a fence-type NPC.

Syntax

fence <object> to <object>
buy back last items from <object>
list wanted items from <object>

Description

Players can fence stolen or legitimately obtained items to certain NPCs found in various places on Discworld. These NPCs are called fences. How good a price the player is able to get for the items depends on the player's skills in valuing the particular item type.

There are various ways to respond to a fence. They include saying or whispering "yes" and "no" or nodding or shaking your head. How the offer is displayed depends on your "verbose money" or "brief money" settings.

Some fences have a list of items they especially want. If you fence an item that they want you may be offered more for it. However, some fences only share their list of wanted items with thieves.

If you fence something you didn't mean to you may be able to buy it back provided the fence hasn't already dealt with someone else. You will be charged 5% above what you were given for the offer to do so.

Stealing from or hurting the fences should be done at own risk.
